Applications can be made at any time during the year. The full board of Trustees meets quarterly, normally in late January, April, July and October. The deadline for applications to be considered at a particular meeting is 6 weeks before the date of that meeting.

Aims

Objective of the funding opportunity: The Pilgrim Trust offers social welfare funding to support:
- Projects
that assist people involved in crime or in alcohol or drug misuse to change their lives and find new opportunities
- Projects concerned with the employment, support or housing of people with mental illness
- Projects in prisons and projects providing alternatives to custody that will give new opportunities to offenders and so assist rehabilitation
- Projects for young people who are looked after by local authorities in residential or foster care and for those leaving that care, to help them into education, training and employment

Eligibility Eligible Organisations:
Normally applications will only be considered from UK registered charities, except where the applicant is exempt from registration, is a recognised public body or is registered as a friendly society. The purpose of the application must be charitable.
The trustees particularly wish to support projects and organisations which find it difficult to raise funds from other sources. They are primarily interested in projects where their funds will make a significant impact and particularly welcome collaboration between organisations to achieve their joint aims.
No match funding is required.
Accreditation Organisations must have the following accreditation to bid: No acreditation is needed.
Amount available Funding available:
For large projects the average grant from the Pilgrim Trust is in the region of £20,000.
The Trust also offers small grants and have set aside an annual sum of £200,000 for applications of £5,000 or less. These applications normally require a less detailed assessment than is the case for larger applications.
